Artist Reflection
For years I have closed my prayers with: "Thank You for all the chances and the dances!" Finally, I thought it was time to put the idea to song, from the perspective of enticing the Lord to "dance" with me. The idea, I suppose, of a kid waving his arms to get his parents' attention: "I'm down here, pick me up and let's have some action!" The song also works as a romantic pitch to my wife, my "other" subtext for writing the song. But the operative thrust is me doing my part to show the Lord I care about our relationship and will stand on my head if that's what makes him happy enough to "dance" with me. There is clearly not enough love and laughter in the world, and this latest title song of ours seeks to remedy that in its own small way. Maybe YOU would care to dance with the One what BRUNG YA?!?!? — Bob Halligan, Jr. |
