Chris Muglia
Chris Muglia is a Catholic singer/songwriter, recording artist and producer. As a recording artist and live performer, Chris possesses a powerful ability to connect with his audience and communicate God's message of love. Chris began his musical journey at the age of 13. He studied classical and rock guitar with great determination and quickly became an accomplished musician. When he moved away from his hometown to pursue a music degree, Chris discovered the reality of Christ and His love.
Inspirational songwriting and a strong voice have earned Chris the opportunity to perform throughout the world. He recorded "I Sought the Lord" with Tom Booth, and has toured with John Michael Talbot's Troubadour label.
In October 2002, after 13 years as a full-time liturgical musician, Chris became convinced that God was calling him to bring ministry beyond the walls of his church. After seeking prayer and counsel, Chris formed a non-profit apostolate called Sound Mission Ministries. Since then, Chris and his staff have traveled thousands of miles and have touched the lives of over 37,000 people! Clearly it is God's will that Chris' inspiring message and ministry be heard.
In June 2003, Chris joined the spiritandsong.com family of artists. In July of that year, he headed off to Nashville, TN, to record his latest CD, Innocence, with renowned producer Jeff Thomas. Backed by some of the best studio musicians in the business — people who have worked with Steven Curtis Chapman, Amy Grant, Rich Mullins and DC Talk — Innocence is polished and powerful, his best album yet.
Chris has two other excellent recordings to his credit, Change Your World, produced in 2000, and Fight the Fight, produced in 1996. "Come Home," one highlight from Fight the Fight, was selected as the diocese of Phoenix's Jubilee Theme Song for the Year of the Father in 1999. The resulting video was used for a program developed and distributed nationally, encouraging wounded ex-Catholics to return to the church.
While not touring with Sound Mission Ministries, Chris continues to serve his home parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Tempe, AZ. Chris has been married for ten years and has four children between the ages of nine and one.
